Fibaform have successfully manufactured quality Glass Fibre products for 40+ years. Supplying glass reinforced polymer gatehouses, cabinets, kiosks and enclosures to a wide range of customers across the UK.
Fibaform is one of the five businesses that form the Eldapoint Group, which is currently embarking on an ambitious growth journey, through system, product and process innovation.
The company was using Sage 50 for their accounts and “in system” purchasing, however were relying on legacy staff knowledge and Excel spreadsheets to control the manufacturing processes. They had manual production planning, demand forecasting and costing tools.
Whilst this setup had supported the success achieved so far, they were looking for a comprehensive manufacturing software solution as a platform for growth that could be used to control all of the core processes.
Eldapoint Group felt that central to their future success was a solution that would “give people data to make more informed decisions” and hold all the key information in one place.
Following discussions and demonstrations with the CIM team, Eldapoint Group chose to adopt the Cim50 Manufacturing solution for Fibaform.
For them, it felt like the “natural next step” as it worked with their existing accounts and finance solution and included all of the key functionality they were hoping to implement as part of this project.
Fibaform are currently using the following Cim50 modules: Stock Control, Bills of Materials, Works Orders, Planning and our Graphical Scheduler, and, over the next few months, are also looking to roll out Cim50 Shop Floor Data Capture (barcoding) as well as MRP.
Other businesses in the Eldapoint Group are also looking to rollout Cim50 too, enabling streamlined management and oversight from the group level. With all of the businesses in the group using a comprehensive manufacturing system, the business will be able to benefit from increased accuracy, efficiency, as well as E2E visibility.
As well as centralising all of their key data, processes and knowledge, Cim50 has enabled Fibaform to value their WIP (Work in Progress) with greater accuracy, calculate true job costs as well as the coordination of key processes through production.
This has allowed Fibaform to increase efficiencies in their factory thanks to a range of features including timesheets, which have enabled them to identify repetitive patterns of downtime and forward planning of materials.
Anna, Group Supply Chain Manager at Eldapoint, explained to us that their Cim50 rollout has “gone really well, the team have responded with enthusiasm to the new system” and Sam, their Cim50 Consultant, “has been an absolute godsend.”
Their training was carried out in-person, on-site, and they’ve been gradually rolling out new features and functionality. They have also been having weekly catch ups with their Cim50 consultant, allowing them to ask any questions they have and iron out finer details.
The Fibaform team have been impressed by our support team when they’ve needed them, Anna herself describing their support as “quick and helpful.”
