Tempa Pano UK manufacture electrical enclosures from sheet steel which are used in a wide range of applications. They have offices in the UK, France, Romania and Bulgaria, as well as distributors in Egypt, Qatar, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.
In 2019, they expanded their operations here in the UK and, due to space constraints, moved to a new office and warehouse. As part of this expansion, Tempa Pano UK set up manufacturing capabilities, having previously been just a sales and distribution hub.
This venture required new machinery as well as a software solution to help with production tracking, Works Order creation and traceability.
They were already using Sage 50 Accounts to control their accounts and finance, so approached us regarding Cim50 Manufacturing, the only Sage recommended Manufacturing solution for Sage 50.
Following discussions with the CIM team, Tempa Pano UK went ahead with Cim50, adopting the following Cim50 modules: Stock Control, Bills of Materials, Works Orders and Shop Floor Data Capture (barcoding).
They worked closely with their Cim50 Consultant who outlined how they could configure certain processes and then set up the system to meet their specific manufacturing requirements. As part of the implementation they had a series of training sessions to help enable the team to get the most out of their new solution.
To further customise their software to their specific needs, Tempa Pano invested in some bespoke development. This enables them to manage their steel sheet inventory and flat pieces more effectively.
Alex, Director at Tempa Pano UK, also explained that part of the reason for choosing Cim50 was that they could see the potential to scale up as their business grows. “Once the operation grows, it’s important to know that there’s a future there, and then we can scale it up. And if we decide that we need to implement a more in-depth accounting software, such as Sage 200, I know that you’ve got solutions there as well.”
Implementing Cim50 prior to starting manufacturing has enabled Tempa Pano UK to utilise all of its comprehensive features from the very beginning of their production.
“Being able to trace the production batches is one of the key features for us. It’s important for our customers to have that confidence that we can go back to our own suppliers, our own production batches and check if anything goes wrong, where it went wrong and isolate incidents.” Tempa Pano UK also have an aim of achieving ISO9001, so the Traceability functionality included in Cim50 was crucial for them when looking for a manufacturing solution.
Alex also explained that they’ve found the Quarantine functionality useful for dealing with customer returns and any issues with suppliers. The customisation options in the Work Order module, which allow them to add analysis fields and customise report layouts, have been useful as well as the integration between the Works Order module and Stock Control, helping them manage shortfalls and generate purchase orders with ease.
Using the real-time data collected by our SFDC module, Tempa Pano UK can “be more accurate with due dates and pricing, key things for a manufacturing company.”
In terms of support, Alex said “I can’t fault the support. Every time we’ve had a question we’ve had good responses.”
