Like with any business-critical software, keeping your Sage 50 Accounts package up to date is crucial. Not only does it keep your data secure and your software up to date with the latest legislation, but it also allows you to benefit from any new functionality that has been developed.
Currently, the latest version of Sage 50 Accounts is V29 and below are just a few of the updates included in this release:
- Easily find records when entering data
- New analysis and email fields
- Calculate net on recurring items
- Gross column added to batch data entry windows
- Description field increased to 120 characters and part number field to 60 characters.
A Note When Updating Sage
When there is a new release of Sage 50 Accounts it is so important that you do not upgrade until you have checked whether the versions of your third-party applications are compatible, such as Cim50, whether any bespoke programs or applications require upgrading, or any ODBC reports need reconnecting.
It is also worth noting that Sage 50 Accounts v28.1 and above isn’t compatible with Sage 50 Manufacturing or Sage Job Costing. So, if you are using either of those solutions, you will have to continue using the outdated version of Sage until you replace those.
How To Update Sage 50 Accounts
To check for updates from within Sage 50 Accounts, click ‘Help’ on the menu bar and then click ‘Check for Updates’. After this, just follow the on-screen prompts.
It is also possible to install the latest update from Sage’s Install Hub.
