We are excited to announce that Sage 50 Accounts v29 & Cim50 v2021.3 are available from the 30th January 2023.
Sage 50 Accounts v29 will help users work smarter, enable customisation, improve productivity and have Smart support at their fingertips..
Also included in this blog is some important information regarding compatibility we would recommend you read through.
Some of the new key features in Sage v29 release:
- Improved search capabilities – Improvements to the search feature will increase productivity and enable you to search your data effectively. Searches can be applied across most fields rather than just the reference field.
- Gross column added to batch entries – Traditionally, Batch Entry windows would display the Net and VAT columns but would not display the Gross figure. V29 introduces a new column to display the Gross figure in addition to the Net and VAT values. This field is read only so cannot be amended.
- Additional analysis and Email fields – Improved customisation is possible with the addition of 3 additional analysis fields within both customer and supplier records.
- Product description and part number – Product description field increased to 120 characters (previously 60).
- Invoice layouts with bank details – Adding bank details onto an invoice is one of the most requested customisations on invoice layouts.
- Ledger refresh – A Refresh option has been added to most modules making it easier to refresh the data visible on screen.
How to Install Sage 50 Accounts v29
You will be prompted to upgrade your software via the usual methods i.e. email and/or Auto Update. However, before you install the latest version we would recommend contacting us if either of the following relates to you:
- Your business uses Sage 50 Manufacturing.
- Your running v28 or below of Sage 50 Accounts.
As you may already be aware, there has been circumstances that have arisen from recent software releases. Customers who are still running Sage 50 Manufacturing will be unable to upgrade to v28 of Sage 50 Accounts due to compatibility issues.
Our recommendation would be to migrate to Cim50 Manufacturing, which is fully compatible with Sage 50 Accounts v29 and Windows 11. We would strongly advise not upgrading your Sage 50 Accounts system whilst you are still using Sage 50 Manufacturing.

Cim50
In conjunction with the Sage End of Life announcement, CIM Software entered into an agreement with Sage for our Cim50 Manufacturing solution to be the preferred replacement solution for Sage 50 Manufacturing users.
Cim50 Manufacturing is an Award-winning solution that does everything that your current Sage 50 Manufacturing does, but improves on it, including over 100 additional features spread across all modules. We are constantly improving and developing Cim50. New features are added regularly.
