Sage 50 Accounts v31 is now available and includes a number of new features including:
- Sage Copilot – a dedicated AI-powered productivity assistant, launched from the Sage 50 Accounts task bar in several ledgers.
- Sage Connect: Discoverability – if Sage Connect is enabled, a hyperlink is now automatically included when emailing customer invoices or statements. This is the customers’ direct link to the Sage Connect portal where they can check their account status, download invoices and view their account history.
- Purchase Automation – entering supplier transactions is now automated to save time. Manually upload a file, or forward supplier invoices and credit notes to a specified email address.
- Remote Data Access and 2FA – When Remote Data Access (RDA) is enabled in v31.0, any user will now be able to authenticate with their Sage account (currently every 6 months), so they can continue to work uninterrupted when they encounter 2-factor Authentication (2FA).
- Modern authentication methods for email – Sending emails from Sage 50 Accounts using SMTP (web mail) for Gmail or Microsoft accounts will now require modern authentication methods. This change is due to Google and Microsoft no longer supporting basic authentication.
This release of Sage 50 Accounts is also compatible with the latest version of Cim50, v2024.2, which is also available now.
Before you Upgrade…
Prior to upgrading it is crucial you check whether the versions of your third-party applications are compatible, whether any bespoke programs or applications require upgrading, or any ODBC reports need reconnecting.
Are you aware that CIM offers a peace of mind upgrade service?
We can provide different levels of upgrade service, which can include a review of your hardware for compatibility, to minimise downtime during the live upgrade we can take a copy of your data and run it through a test upgrade, ensure that any 3rd party applications, bespoke development and reports, etc are all upgraded for you. We will assign one of our Consultants to carry out the upgrade on an agreed date and they can also provide training to bring users up to speed with the latest new features.
If you do not want to upgrade to the latest version of Sage Accounts it is highly recommended that you set the Software Update Settings to Manual.
To set the software update settings to manual go to Software Updates> Software Updates settings and select ‘I’ll check for Updates’.
