Support Newsletter – April 2023 – Cim50 & Sage 50 Accounts

Welcome to the April edition of the CIM Support newsletter.

Sage 50 Accounts

  • For a number of our clients, it’s that time of year when the financial year closes (31/03/2023) and you are preparing to run Year End in Sage 50 Accounts. One of the most frustrating problems for the user who runs Year End is that other users have not logged out of Sage.  Sometimes these users may have closed a Remote Desktop Session without logging out of Sage.  Details on how to resolve this can be found in the list below.

Here are some useful articles including how to run Year End and other supporting questions or queries you may have.

  • Have you considered archiving your data?  An archive dataset is a read only copy of your data and is useful as a reference point should you need to undertake some housekeeping, i.e. clearing your data.  For more information on archiving your data please click here.

Cim50

  • One of the most common support calls we receive is that CIM (Cimi) is logged in when you need a run a process as single user.  If you see a message similar to this one, please read our article here.
  • Is your overnight data check still running when users log in? Or has it not run? It is important that users pay attention to the Cim50 Data Checks when logging into Cim50. This information is present when you first log into Cim50, however can also be viewed by going to Help > System/Data Info. Contact CIM Support – the overnight data validation is in red meaning it had not run.

CIM Challenge

Our CIM Challenge for 2023 is to walk 11,072 miles, that’s the equivalent of walking the coastline of mainland Britain. Whilst we won’t actually be walking the coastline, we will be updating you each month with how many miles we have walked collectively as a company.

During March 2023 we walked 769.49 miles. Again, we have exceeded our expected mileage to the end of March by 31.09miles.

What a fantastic effort by all at CIM.
