Welcome to the Support Newsletter for July. Sage 50 Accounts v30.1 has now been released, but as per last month’s newsletter, please take caution when upgrading as there are other factors to consider.
While you might have assumed that we’ve completed the introductions for our Support Team, there’s actually an additional member we’re excited to welcome. Many of you may already be familiar with her, particularly those who have called in for support. Let’s extend a warm welcome to Alison!
Sage 50 Accounts
When there is a new release of Sage 50 Accounts it is so important that you do not upgrade until you have checked whether the versions of your third-party applications are compatible, such as Cim50, whether any bespoke programs or applications require upgrading, or any ODBC reports need reconnecting.
Following any release of Sage 50 Accounts we receive a high number of support calls from customers who upgraded their Sage 50 Accounts only to find that Cim50 or other applications were not compatible. This puts a strain on our support resources, as we do not want our customers to be without a system, but we cannot always react to the level we would normally, so please reach out if you are thinking of upgrading.
Are you aware that CIM offers a peace of mind upgrade service?
We can provide different levels of upgrade service, which can include a review of your hardware for compatibility, to minimise downtime during the live upgrade we can take a copy of your data and run it through a test upgrade, ensure that any 3rd party applications, bespoke development and reports, etc are all upgraded for you. We will assign one of our Consultants to carry out the upgrade on an agreed date and they can also provide training to bring users up to speed with the latest new features.
If the upgrade service is something you would be interested in, please contact your Account Manager, Martin Conner who will be only too pleased to talk to you about the process that works for you, provide a quotation for our time, and let you know our current lead time.
Cim50
We are pleased to advise that we have now completed compatibility testing with Cim50 and can confirm that Cim50 v2024.1 is compatible with Sage 50 v30.1, both in the x64 and x86 variants. Existing customers who are already using Cim50 v2024.1 can update their Sage 50 to v30.1 without having to do anything with Cim50. For customers who are using an earlier version of Cim50, they will need to update to v2024.1 if they want to upgrade their Sage 50 to v30.1
Should you have any questions or queries relating to compatibility between Cim50 v2024.1 and Sage 50 v30.1, or any other Cim50 v2024.1 queries, please contact us using the button below.

Spotlight on Alison
Alison joined CIM in November 2016 where she took on the role of managing incoming calls and meticulously recording your support inquiries, among various administrative duties. She’s now transitioning to the CIM Support Team, where she’ll be handling support enquiries specifically for the 50 suite. Those who have had the pleasure of interacting with Alison are familiar with her cheerful nature and her eagerness to assist in any way possible, traits that make her an excellent addition to the support team. Outside of work, Alison absolutely loves a club banger and will often be seen cutting up the dancefloor!
We hope these guides/articles will be of assistance, however, if you wish to discuss these further, please contact the support team by clicking the button at the bottom of this newsletter.
