Support Newsletter – June 2023 – Cim50 & Sage 50 Accounts

Welcome to the June edition of the CIM Support newsletter.

This month we are taking on the mammoth task of walking a marathon in one day. Read all about it in our CIM Challenge section.

Sage 50 Accounts

  • I really cannot stress how important it is to run Check Data to ensure that there is nothing wrong with your data.  Over the years, this routine has got easier to run and resolve any errors found.  As your support provider, we are here to steer you through this process and are happy to be on hand to talk you through the routine if required.

               Reported Errors, Warnings, Comments
               Fixing Errors, Warnings and Comments

  • If you have errors that cannot be fixed there are usually two options available, the first is to restore from a clean back-up, the second is to send your data off for repair.  Please contact us should you find yourself in this position as occasionally we can fix the ‘corruption’ or we can arrange for your data to be sent for repair with Adept Tools for whom we are an approved partner.

  • Would you like a better understanding of the Chart of Accounts, creating new nominal codes or running your management reports?  Sign up to a free of charge webinar to be screened on Friday 9th June at 2pm.  It’s 45 minutes of your time that may be really useful.  Click here to complete the registration.

Cim50

Important!

There is a new release of Cim50 in July 2023, version 2023.2.  It is so important that you do not upgrade until you have checked whether the versions of your third-party applications are compatible, such as Sage 50 Accounts, whether any bespoke programs or applications require upgrading, or any ODBC reports need reconnecting.

Often following a release, we receive a high number of support calls from customers who upgrade only to find that other applications are not compatible. This puts a strain on our support resources, as we do not want our customers to be without a system, but we cannot always react to the level we would normally, so please reach out if you are thinking of upgrading.

CIM Challenge

To push ourselves one step further, and help boost our total miles, we’re going to be taking on a marathon walk in early June.  We will be walking from Southampton to Winchester and back in one day, and we’ve estimated that the walk will take over 10 hours…

During May 2023 we walked 959.1 miles and we are now back on target, but only just.  We’ve exceeded the expected target of 4613.3 miles by 0.64!
