Support Newsletter – October 2022 – Sage 200

Hello and welcome to the October edition of the CIM Support newsletter.

The clocks will be changing at the end of this month, but here’s some cheery news, 12 weeks till Christmas!

Since 1 April 2022, all VAT-registered businesses are mandated to follow MTD rules regarding digital record keeping and digitally filing VAT returns.

From 01 November 2022, businesses will no longer be able to use their existing VAT online account to file their VAT returns. HMRC will contact businesses that still need to sign up to let them know they must sign up for Making Tax Digital (MTD) and use MTD compatible software to submit returns.

Version 2018 and above contains the MTD for VAT functionality.  To check your version number please refer to this guide.

Important!  Do you use bank feeds?  If you do, you may need a patch applied to your system due to the withdrawal of TLS 1.0.  Not “Technical Language Stuff”,  TLS or Transport Layer Security allows Sage to communicate to validate the licence entitlement.  Please contact your support team advising them of your version number along with the details of users who facilitate the bank feed utility.  A patch will need to be applied to each pc/bank feed user and should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

With Financial Year End fast approaching, did you know

that the CIM Support Desk can assist with a back-up of your live data and create a new company (if required) free of charge?

If you would like to take advantage of this, all we ask is that we are given a minimum of two working days’ notice to schedule it in.

Please note this only applies to one data set, multiple data sets would be chargeable and have a longer lead time.

We hope these guides will be of assistance, however, if you wish to discuss these further, please contact the support team by clicking the button at the bottom of this newsletter.
