Support Newsletter – September 2024 – Sage 200

Welcome to the Support Newsletter for September.

It’s hard to believe that summer has flown by and we are saying goodbye to those few sunny days and are approaching the crisp autumn air.

This month, we don’t have any new employees to introduce, but we’re excited to bring back an old favourite: Report of the Month

Sage 200

Running Sage 50 and Sage 200 on the same PC

While we understand that you might be transitioning from Sage 50 to Sage 200, we recommend installing Sage 200 on a different PC. This is because some shared configuration files, like those used by Report Designer, could negatively impact Sage 50. Note: Payroll and Sage 200 can be installed on the same PC once you have transitioned, as you will need the Nominal Link feature to function with Sage 200.

We have received a number of calls recently where users are regularly receiving this error message at any time and anywhere in the program.  Sage have advised that the file/s CefSharp are being quarantined by firewall or antivirus.  The resolution steps below will need to be processed by your IT Support Team.

  1. Ensure that all Windows updates have been applied to the server/remote desktop server
  2. Ensure Sage is not being used and go to the Server that has the Client installed on and open the registry editor.
  3. Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sage\MMS
  4. Once located right click on the right-hand screen on the line that says ClientInstallLocation and select modify. This then will give you the value data. Copy this then close Registry Editor.
  5. Open File explore and paste the path you copied on line 3
  6. Browse down to the CefSharp lines. These potentially are what are getting quarantined by either a firewall or Antivirus software once the program is opened therefore leading to the errors.
  7. These then need to be allowed through the customers security.

If the issue persists after following these steps, please reach out to us for further assistance.
