Sage 50 Accounts - please don't upgrade yet
Sage 50 Accounts v34 has recently been released. Please do not upgrade until we confirm compatibility with Cim50. Upgrading before we give the all-clear will render Cim50 inoperable, and we want to avoid that disruption to your business.
Our development team is actively testing against the new version and we will communicate a clear upgrade date as soon as compatibility is confirmed.
X Please Don't Upgrade until we confirm compatibility
Watch for our compatibility notice before installing v34. Upgrading early will cause Cim50 to stop working.
Reminder – Turn off automatic updates
We have mentioned this previously, but it is worth repeating: please make sure Sage 50’s automatic update option is switched off. In Sage 50, go to Help → About → Updates and disable automatic updates. This keeps you in control of when you upgrade and prevents unexpected compatibility issues. This should be done on all PCs running Sage 50.
Sage 50 Cloud: What you need to know
You may be aware that Sage have recently announced the development of Sage 50 Cloud. We wanted to make sure you heard directly from us about what this means for your Cim50 Manufacturing software.
Sage are currently working towards an Early Access Programme (EAP), which will initially focus on customers using core Sage 50 features. Importantly, third-party integrations, including add-ons like Cim50, will not be included in the early stages of the rollout.
Sage have asked that customers currently using third-party solutions complete a form to register which add-on applications they use. We would encourage you to do this if you have not already done so; your response helps Sage understand the full scope of integration requirements and prioritise compatibility work.
Register Your Add-On With Sage
Let Sage know you use Cim50 by completing their Early Access Programme add-on solutions form. This helps ensure third-party integrations are considered as development progresses.
We are in close contact with Sage and are monitoring developments carefully. Compatibility between Cim50 Manufacturing and Sage 50 Cloud is a priority for us, and we will keep you fully informed as integration support timelines become clearer.
In the meantime, there is no immediate action required beyond completing the form above, we will be in touch as soon as we have further news to share.

Make the most of your software
If you have invoices, payments, or journal entries that occur on a regular basis, such as monthly direct debits, standing charges, or recurring supplier invoices, set them up as recurring entries in Sage 50.
Go to Modules → Recurring Entries, set the frequency, start date, and number of postings, and Sage will prompt you to process them automatically each time you open the software. This saves re-keying the same transaction every month and reduces the risk of forgetting or duplicating entries.
Set minimum and maximum stock levels on every stock item you hold. Cim50 can then use these thresholds to flag when stock is running low and feed into the materials requirement suggestions, taking the guesswork out of when and how much to reorder.
- Minimum level — triggers a reorder warning when stock falls to or below this point
- Maximum level — tells the system how much to reorder up to, preventing overstocking and tying up unnecessary cash
- Reorder quantity — set this to match your supplier’s minimum order quantities or your most economic batch size
