Deval are a family-run business based in Christchurch, Dorset. They’ve been making cable assemblies for almost 40 years and have a vast customer base across the UK.
Their customers provide them with a drawing of the assembly they require, Deval then cost it up, manufacture it and deliver it to meet the customer’s due date.
Deval were using Sage 50 Manufacturing for all of their processes but, when it was announced end of life, decided to look for an alternate solution.
As Deval were already using CIM for their Sage 50 Manufacturing support, migrating to our manufacturing solution was a straight-forward decision for the team.
During the demonstration, the Deval team liked the fact that Cim50 has more advanced functionality than Sage 50 Manufacturing and processes can be viewed more in-depth.
The Deval team had Cim50 installed with the following modules; Stock Control, Bill of Materials, Works Orders & Planning.
With our migration tool, we were able to transfer all of their data and re-develop their job sheets and custom reports in their Cim50 solution. This meant there was minimal downtime for the team.
The CIM Software team also support Deval’s Sage Accounts as well as their IT providing them a one-stop-shop for all of their Sage, manufacturing and IT needs.
During a routine support call, CIM support identified the root cause of recurring Sage performance issues and recommended Deval do a data cleardown. After archiving a lot of old data, Alan and the team have found the system to run much quicker. As part of all CIM support packages, our customers gain access to our expert teams.
Whilst each department utilises a slightly different Sage 50 Accounts or Cim50 Manufacturing modules day-to-day, Deval feel the benefit of the system is the integration and it all working together.
Thanks to the flexibility of the Cim50 solution, Deval are able to have new reports created and change job sheets quickly. Not only does this save them time on their admin, but it means they can rely on the solution to work how they work.
Deval were keen to have their Sage, IT and manufacturing under one roof and haven’t looked back since. Getting issues resolved is far more efficient and CIM take full accountability for the entire system. They no longer feel like they are going backwards and forwards between different suppliers who point them in other directions.
Compared to previous support providers, Alan feels CIM are much more flexible with their assistance. “As a small business themselves, CIM have got to know me and the business, and provide us a more personable service.”
