Sarum Hydraulics design and manufacture a variety of products, from hydraulic hand pumps to rugged manual hydraulics at their Salisbury factory.
Founded in 1986 by John and Tony, these products are used across the globe in a variety of applications, within many different industries.
They previously used Sage 50 Manufacturing, alongside Sage 50 Accounts, to control their in-house manufacturing processes.
Lack of development throughout Sage 50 Manufacturing meant that Sarum Hydraulics required an alternative solution to keep up with their competitors.
Cim50 Manufacturing naturally presented itself as the ideal alternative to Sage 50 Manufacturing, a solution that is continuously developed with enhanced, powerful functionality. Using the available migration tool, we were able to seamlessly transfer data from Sage 50 Manufacturing to Cim50, which was vital for Sarum Hydraulics as part of this move to a new solution.
The migration tool required little user preparation and their data was transferred across within minutes, all without the need to import from spreadsheets.
Sarum Hydraulics reported some issues with report templates, as part of this move, that we were able to quickly resolve to ensure a smooth migration,
When we asked Tony what he thought of the migration, here’s what he had to say: “The move from Sage 50 Manufacturing to Cim50 was extremely well planned and there were no big hitches. Our data migrated without any issues.”
Sarum Hydraulics initially acquired a 2 user Cim50 solution with the Stock Control, Bill of Materials, Works Orders and Planning modules.
Since implementation, Sarum Hydraulics have emphasised how intuitive the solution is for its users and that there are several, well thought out features such as being able to change a delivery note.
Moving away from Sage 50 Manufacturing has reduced the number of errors processing data, as they now have one solution to create and amend items.
The MRP list displays clearer, actionable information, including each sales order number and due date, that was not previously available.
Tony also said, “the simple fact that a CofC and test certificate can be printed and altered directly within the software, rather than having to create from another package, has saved us so much time.”
