Support Newsletter – December 2023 – Cim50 & Sage 50 Accounts

Welcome to the December edition of the CIM Support newsletter.  Don’t worry, this is not a Black Friday email 😂

Sage 50 Accounts

Data Limits

We have seen an increase in support calls recently relating to errors in both Sage 50 Accounts and Cim50 and largely these have been due to the amount of data in Sage 50 Accounts.  Maintaining your data is paramount to ensuring that any errors are kept to an absolute minimum and that the system runs to its full potential.

As part of the year-end routine, there is the option to clear the audit trail, clear stock, remove invoices and orders and compress the data.  If this is not undertaken at year-end, it is recommended that it is processed when convenient and we would recommend that this is actioned yearly.

Perhaps the Christmas period is the ideal time to carry out some housekeeping on your data?  There are two guides which we would recommend that you review.  One details the data limits and contains links to guides detailing how to cleanse the data and the other provides information on clearing stock.  Unfortunately, it is not possible for a user to see how many stock transactions are in Sage 50 Accounts, however, if you would like to know this information we have a report that we can run on your data.

Users – Reset Your Cim50 Password

If you’ve been away from the office for a while and cannot remember your Cim50 password, don’t worry, help is available.  This guide provides information on how to reset your password.

System Requirements

Before installing or upgrading Cim50 it is always recommended that you ensure your hardware and software meet our recommendations.  You can review the System Requirements for Cim50 v2024 here.

If you require System Requirements for any other versions of Cim50 please contact the support team.

Works Orders – Actual Costs v Estimated Costs

This article explains why you will see differences between Actual Costs and Estimated Costs on works orders, which costs are used to non-traceable and traceable stock and includes a working example.

CIM Challenge

During November 2023 we walked 558.19 miles.  Unfortunately, we are off target by 598.28 miles. However, there is something to celebrate, we have one walker (and his companions) who has surpassed 1500 miles so far this year.
