Support Newsletter – January 2024 – Cim50 & Sage 50 Accounts

Everyone at CIM would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and welcome you to the January 2024 newsletter which contains exciting news about our walking challenge

Sage 50 Accounts v30 is due for release on 8th February 2024

I am pleased to advise that one of the improvements in Sage 50 Accounts v30 is that it will be compatible with 64-bit MS Office.  I’m sure that you and your IT Support will be pleased to hear this.

Important!

When there is a new release of Sage 50 Accounts it is so important that you do not upgrade until you have checked whether the versions of your third-party applications are compatible, such as Cim50, whether any bespoke programs or applications require upgrading, or any ODBC reports need reconnecting.

Following any release of Sage 50 Accounts we receive a high number of support calls from customers who upgraded their Sage 50 Accounts only to find that Cim50 or other applications were not compatible. This puts a strain on our support resources, as we do not want our customers to be without a system, but we cannot always react to the level we would normally, so please reach out if you are thinking of upgrading.

Are you aware that CIM offers a peace of mind upgrade service?

We can provide different levels of upgrade service, which can include a review of your hardware for compatibility, to minimise downtime during the live upgrade we can take a copy of your data and run it through a test upgrade, ensure that any 3rd party applications, bespoke development and reports, etc are all upgraded for you. We will assign one of our Consultants to carry out the upgrade on an agreed date and they can also provide training to bring users up to speed with the latest new features.

If the upgrade service is something you would be interested in, please contact your Account Manager, Martin Conner who will be only too pleased to talk to you about the process that works for you, provide a quotation for our time, and let you know our current lead time.

Important! “I don’t want to upgrade”

If you do not want to upgrade to the latest version of Sage Accounts it is highly recommended that you set the Software Update Settings to Manual.  This will ensure that the pop-up reminding you to upgrade does not appear and it will also stop the risk of upgrading Sage Accounts and finding that it is not compatible with any third party add-ons.

To set the Software Update Settings to Manual go to Help > Software Update Settings and select ‘I’ll check for Updates’.

Product Sales by Stock Category This report groups the product sales by each stock category and can be produced for a specified period.

Once installed the report can be found in Invoices and credits reports, under My invoice and credit reports.  Please click here for an example of the report.

Cim50

We are aiming to release a compatible version of Cim50 in line with the new release of Sage 50 Accounts v30.  Updates on our progress will be released in due course.

CIM Challenge

We only went and did it! We wanted to walk 11,072 miles in 2023, the equivalent of walking the coastline around mainland Great Britain and OMG, we did it, finishing with a total of 11,166.  Some of our walkers were not using MapMyWalk and having counted all miles for 2023 and everyone putting in an extra effort during December, we exceeded our target.

We’ve raised £4,657 for a super charity and it’s not too late to donate.

Charlotte and James, Alfie’s parents, would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for all the support and fundraising during 2023.

We hope these guides/articles will be of assistance, however, if you wish to discuss these further, please contact the support team by clicking the button at the bottom of this newsletter.
