Below we’ve answered a number of our most frequently asked questions on Microsoft Copilot.

Microsoft Copilot is your AI Assistant for work. It’s an add-on to Microsoft 365 that enables users to enhance their productivity and creativity. 

It’s compliant with Microsoft’s existing privacy, security, and compliance commitments to Microsoft 365 commercial customers, including GDPR and European Union (EU) Data Boundary.

Prompts, responses, and data accessed through Microsoft Graph are not used to train foundation LLMs, including those used by Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Yes, there is a free version of Microsoft Copilot which is accessible via the web, mobile and within Microsoft Edge. 

Using Copilot within the M365 apps (such as Excel and Word) requires a paid subscription. 

At present, there is no free trial for Microsoft Copilot available. However, we would recommend investing in one or two licences and testing its capabilities using those before committing to a full rollout. 

Microsoft Copilot is deeply integrated into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, making it a seamless productivity assistant for users already within that environment. It excels at automating workflows and providing context-specific recommendations.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, is a more general-purpose AI assistant with a broader knowledge base. 

What can’t you do with Copilot? As your AI assistant for work, it can help you with an extensive range of common tasks including: 

  • rewriting, editing and summarising documents 
  • drafting emails, suggesting replies and summarising email threads
  • designing presentation slides and generating outlines 
  • analysing and summarising data and generating formulae

Yes, both the free and paid versions of Microsoft Copilot can generate images using AI.

No, Teams Premium and Microsoft Copilot are complementary products.

Teams Premium offers branding and analytical features whilst Copilot for Teams can summarise key discussion points, suggest action points and answer questions in real-time or after a meeting.
