Open: Cim200 Works Orders > Utilities > System Set Up > View Works Order Settings | General

Use these settings to choose how to process and manage Works Orders.

Note: The View Works Order Settings option allows you to view the settings but not amend them.

Select from the following settings:

Default Machine time to Labour Time on Timesheet Bookings

Ticking this option causes the machine time to be copied from labour time when entering Timesheets. This is to streamline the process of recording times, but the machine time can be overwritten if it differs from labour time.

Use Employee rates on Timesheets

When entering Timesheets, the labour cost of each line is calculated by multiplying the entered labour time by the labour cost rate. The labour cost rate can be taken either from the Timesheet Employee record or from the operation details.

Ticking this option will cause the Timesheet Employee rate to be used; otherwise the operation rate will be used.

If this option is not ticked, a Cost column is available on the Timesheet entry screen. From this column, individual cost rates for each cost type can be viewed and overridden.

Timesheets Total Labour Hours Checking

Use this option to help ensure that all an employee’s times have been recorded on a Timesheet.

For each Timesheet Employee record, a value can be set for the employee’s Normal Daily Working Hours. This defines how many hours a day they will normally work.

When entering Timesheets, if this option is enabled the employee’s normal daily hours are compared to the number of hours entered per day into the Timesheet. If the number of hours entered in the Timesheet is lower on any day than the employee’s normal daily hours, the Timesheet cannot be saved until sufficient hours have been entered.

If this option is not enabled, any number of hours can be recorded on a Timesheet.

Prevent bookings to completed operations

Tick this option to stop users adding any further time bookings against an operation once its full required quantity has been booked.

With this setting enabled, once the Quantity Outstanding on an operation reaches zero, the system will block any new booking attempt – whether the booking is being made from Operation Times/Costs, from Timesheets, or from Shop Floor Data Capture. The user will see a message explaining that the operation has already been completed and the booking will not be saved.

With this setting unticked, operations behave as they did in previous versions: time can continue to be booked against an operation even after its full quantity has been booked. This is sometimes useful where extra rework time needs to be recorded against the original operation.

Choose the setting that fits how strictly you want to control time recording on your shop floor. Many sites may prefer to leave it unticked during day-to-day running and only enable it where over-booking has caused problems with reported costs.
