Introduction

The Cim50 Stock Control Module forms part of the Cim50 suite of modules which also includes Bill Materials, Quotations, Planning and Works Orders and Shop Floor Data Capture.

This module mirrors the available fields within Sage 50 Accounts, giving you one screen to maintain your stock records. Take advantage of this module, to utilise traceability, quarantine, stocktake and the ability to carryout all stock transactions including purchase order receipts and sales order dispatches.

The Stock Item list can be accessed from the menu bar on the left-hand side of the Cim50 Program. At the top of the screen you will be presented with all the Stock Control features you have been provided with by the System Administrator.

All the data fields from Sage 50 Accounts Products are utilised, but the Cim50 Stock Control module expands on these fields to include others required to run a typical manufacturing company. Any changes that are made to the data fields that are resident in both solutions are kept in sync. Updates to Sage 50 fields that are actioned via Cim50 are saved immediately within the Sage 50 database, whereas changes made in Sage 50, that affect Cim50, are updated during a sync service which is run on the server, checking for any amendments.

Note: Whilst all data fields will be available for data input, they may not be utilised fully unless the relevant Cim50 Module is enabled.

Note: When Cim50 is in use, it is highly recommended that all new Stock Items are created and any amendments to existing Stock Items are carried out in Cim50. This will improve performance of the solution, allowing the user to access all the fields available and avoid the need to revisit stock items. Furthermore, it will also result in less validation errors during the data check routines which would highlight missing Stock Items in Cim50, as part of the check.
In addition to the above, it is important that all stock movements are carried out in Cim50, this includes, but is not limited to, Receiving and Despatching Goods. This is particularly important for traceable items to avoid a mismatch of stock quantities during data checks.
