Remove Component
Open: Bill of Materials > Utilities > Maintenance > Remove Components
The Remove Component screen allows users to remove an existing component from multiple records across Cim200.
This tool provides an efficient way to remove obsolete, redundant, or incorrect components from Bills of Materials, Works Orders, and Configured Quotations without manually editing each record.
Find
Code – Select the stock item you wish to remove using the lookup.
Name – Displays the description of the selected component.
Removal Options
Choose where the selected component should be removed:
Remove on Bill of Materials
Removes the specified component from all BOMs.
- Exclude bills of material on-hold – Skips any BOMs that are currently on hold.
Remove on Works Orders
Removes the specified component from any live works orders that are not completed or cancelled.
Note: If the Allow processing of completed works orders setting is enabled in Cim200, components may also be removed from completed works orders.
Remove on Configured Quotations

Processing
Once a component and removal options have been defined, Cim200 will display a record selection screen for each applicable object type (Bill of Materials and/or Works Orders).
After confirming selections:
-
The chosen component is removed from all selected records.
-
An audit record is created for each removal.
-
Only active versions of BOMs are affected when version control is in use.
After processing, Cim200 prompts the user to confirm whether they wish to re-cost the affected BOMs and Works Orders to reflect the component removal.
