Stock By Location
The Stock By Location screen is a read-only enquiry that shows you where the stock of a traceable item is held, and how much is at each location. It is designed to answer the question “where is my stock?” without having to open the Traceability Enquiry and read down each batch one row at a time.
Choosing an item
Pick the item to enquire on from the Stock Code drop-down at the top of the screen. The list contains every traceable item on the system. As soon as you choose an item, the rest of the screen refreshes.
Reading the screen
The body of the screen is a two-level list:
- Parent rows show each location that holds stock of the item, with a total Qty in Stock, Qty Allocated and Free Stock for that location. Free Stock is simply Qty in Stock minus Qty Allocated.
- Child rows underneath each parent show the individual batches or serial numbers held at that location, each with its own Qty in Stock, Qty Allocated and Free Stock.
Locations with zero in-stock quantity are not shown. Stock held in Quarantine is shown in the list alongside any other location.
Use the Expand All and Collapse All buttons at the top of the screen to show or hide all the child rows at once. You can also click the small triangle on a single parent row to expand or collapse just that location.
Choosing which columns to show
Click the Columns button to pick which columns the list shows. The five core columns — Location, Batch / Serial, Qty in Stock, Qty Allocated and Free Stock — are mandatory and cannot be removed, but you can add any of the other traceability columns alongside them. Your choice is saved per user.
Exporting
Click the Export button to send the current list to Excel. The export includes whichever columns you have chosen, with the same parent/child layout as the screen.
